Timing for Your Facelift Procedure

If you are looking into getting a facelift in Loveland, one of the challenges you may not have foreseen is how to fit it into the events of your life! Depending on how discrete you want to be about your operation, managing your recovery can be a challenge. Oftentimes, this social recovery is more challenging than the physical recovery.

Everyone is different, but we can provide you with some ballpark timing to help you figure out the best timing for your facelift. You should also get a friendly consultation with our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and get his take on things.

  • Pain Recovery:
    • You should experience only mild pain after your facelift. Give it one or two days to fade off.
  • Driving Recovery:
    • Once you are off pain meds, you are good to drive. This should be about four days. Keep in mind that your neck may be stiff, which will make it difficult to turn your head and look for cars.
  • Bruising and Swelling Recovery:
    • Bruising and swelling will actually increase during the four days after your surgery. Things begin to calm down on the fifth day, and you should be good to put on makeup by the seventh or eighth day.

When can I go to dinner with friends?

If you want to go to dinner and not have any questions asked, you should give it about two weeks. By this point, any lingering bruises can be covered with makeup. If you really want to deflect attention away from your operation, get a slight change in hairstyle, and you can attribute any differences in appearance to that.

At Front Range Plastic Surgery, we put you first. Contact us today for a consultation!
