Whether you are getting your breasts augmented or reduced, there are some things you can do to make sure you are ready for your operation. At Front Range Plastic and Surgery, we want everything to go as smoothly as possible!
When you got through your preoperative appointment with our Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Schutte, you will be given detailed instructions on how to be fully prepared. In this blog, we will outline main steps that are generally required across the board. Keep in mind that Dr. Schutte may have detailed directions just for you – it is important to us to treat each patient uniquely and according to her needs.
- Do not take blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen for at least 10 days before the surgery. Thin blood slows down healing!
- Wear comfortable clothing, including pants that come off easily and a shirt that opens and closes in the front.
- If you smoke, try to stop four weeks before surgery. If you cannot quit, hold back as much as you can. Smoking constricts your blood vessels, which interferes with healing.
- Do not wear makeup, contact lenses, nail polish, jewelry, or hair accessories to your surgery.
- Do not eat or drink anything for 8 hours before surgery.
- Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours before surgery.
At Front Range Plastic and Surgery, we make you our highest priority. From the minute you walk into our office, you will receive the very best care. Contact us today with any questions you may have about breast augmentation or reduction.
